The Five-Minute Marketer

Issue 14, Volume 1

How to Use the Internet to Triple

the Profitability of a Local Business

Essential Points

1) Effective marketing on the Internet is all about collecting names and email addresses.

2) You must be a fanatic about collecting the email addresses of your buyers.

3) Email is how you stay in touch with your customers.

4)  If you have a list, your email communications to your list are essentially free.

5) You build your email list by offering something of value free in exchange for their name and email address. I call this an “ethical bribe.”

6) You then follow-up with email communications that make more great offers.

7) The key to success for your local business is to give people a strong reason to come into your store right now.  You do that by making a great offer with a deadline.

8) These principles apply to all Internet marketing.  The only real difference is that for national and global businesses, your goal is to get people to come to your “virtual” store instead of a physical store.
